Don't Stress...these pointers will help you with wearing and choosing your wedding garter!Decide whether you prefer to wear one or two garters! Traditionally, a bride would wear the keepsake garter, but many brides are chosen to wear two garters, one to keep and one to toss! The keepsake garter is normally the larger and/or the more embellished garter of the set and the tossing garter is the garter that will be tossed during the reception, after the groom removes it from the bride's leg (the tossing garter is the equivalent to the bridal bouquet toss)!
Decide on the size, style and color of garter you want, then make your purchase. Many brides use their garter to match one of the wedding colors. The garter should fit snugly but comfortably around your upper thigh, about 3-4 inches above the knee!
On your wedding day, put on your gown, veil and any other accessories you may be wearing except your shoes.
Slip your foot through your garter and slide the garter up to your upper thigh where it fits comfortably. If you chose to wear two garters, repeat this step on the same leg with the second garter.
Put your shoes on, take one last look in the mirror, and enjoy your special day!
